Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Products that Cause Fires: Batteries, Compressed Gas Tanks, Marine Flares & More
Our industry has seen a tremendous increase in fires and explosions at our facilities in the last 10 years, so much so that insurance is getting extremely costly and hard to find. Our industry is 4th most dangerous in the country in part because of the dangerous products that are being thrown in the trash and recycling and disposal bans are not working. The situation is only getting worse, and the trajectory will not change unless we make significant changes and what should those be. Our goal is to share the data on the problem and the policy tools you have available to reduce the risk of fire and injuries to your staff.
Call to Action: Use the policy tools provided to start discussions with legislators and other key stakeholders regarding legislative solutions to keep workers safe
