Episodic Generation of Hazardous Waste

Andrea Stermer with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality will review the hazardous waste generator regulations for episodic generation of hazardous waste under 40 CFR 262 Subpart L. When these alternative regulations are met, Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQG) and Small Quantity Generators (SQG) of hazardous waste can maintain their existing generator category when they are approved for a planned or unplanned event such as a spill caused by a storm, tank cleanout, or removal of excess chemical inventory.
